Airshow

On Friday we attended the Joint Services Open House (JSOH). The weather was perfect, with bright blue skies and a nice breeze to keep the heat away. Unless of course you are Beau, and you choose to wear a long sleeve black shirt, then you are roasting the entire day.My favorite flying demonstration was the Heritage Flight. Included was a A P-51 Mustang, F-16 Falcon, and F-22 Raptor. It was great to see where aviation has come from, and where it is going.
Everett and Zachary enjoyed the planes, of course! They're boys. That's what boys like.

Eliza just saw this as a great opportunity to explore. She was content to wander around and wave at people.
We were at the airshow ALL DAY LONG! The kids wanted to leave about 2, but the Blue Angels were going to be flying at 3. Everett had been waiting to see them, so it seemed foolish to leave when we were so close. Everyone perked up after Beau bought some ice cream. It's such a bummer that we're not allowed to take our own food and beverage into the airshow. We could have saved ourselves a couple of arms. $3 for bottled water! $7 for a small cheese pizza. For what we paid for 4 bottles of water, we could have purchased 3 cases! Those vendors sure know what they are doing - raking in the moolah and rolling in it!
Thank goodness for sunscreen! Without it, Eliza would have been as red as a tomato. I wish she would have let me put a hat and sunglasses on her. I guess she thought it would mess up her hair.
This face pretty much sums up what everyone in our family looked like by the end of the day. They said they had fun, so we'll leave it at that.
