The boys have a campout, and the girls have a party

Our stake put together a Father and Son's campout to commemorate the restoration of the Priesthood. The boys have been looking forward to this activity for weeks. Since Beau's semester of school just began, the workload was still light enough that he was able to take them.
Beau had a half day of school the day they left, so as soon as he got home, they loaded up the car and were ready to go! Look at those smiles! Hopefully they come home with smiles.
They had to stop at the store to pick up a few last minute things. Among those items were a can of Pringles each, and a few water guns. You know, the essentials.
Beau rented a raft and they spent the afternoon rowing around and getting into water fights with other kids. They said it was great, and compared it to being in the Pirates of the Carribean - shooting while on a boat.

 Some fellow pirates.

Taking time to explore an island for treasure, like all good pirates are known for doing.

Of course, there has to be a casualty. If you squint, you can actually see the scratch with a tiny bit of blood.

Just hanging out, enjoying the campsite waiting for dinner, popcorn, and s'mores. A few skits were performed that made them laugh.

They slept well, and looked so cute in the morning!

Waiting in line for breakfast.

Before they broke camp, it was time to explore and go for a short hike. The boys had so much fun spending time with their Daddy. I hope this is the start to a yearly tradition.

The whole week leading up to the campout, Eliza kept saying that the boys are going on a campout, and the girls are going to have a party. I couldn't let her down! We had a girls night complete with pizza, decorating a cake, painting our nails and watching a girlie movie - Ella Enchanted. The next morning we got up and participated in a 5K with the local BYU Alumni Association.
