School project

My sister, Allison, is in her Sophomore year of college at the University of New Mexico. She is studying childhood education. For one of her classes, she was to put together a lesson plan that centered around an artist and his artwork, and have the kids make their own art using that artists' style. She chose Henry Matisse, and his style of collage. The assignment was to create a creature by combining two animals. Then they were to make a collage of their creature and it's habitat using colored paper. Abi was excited, and got right to work!
I like this little look on her face as she concentrates and thinks about how to go about the project.
My sister asked if I would take pictures of Abi's progress, and also include myself in a couple of them.
Abi was very meticulous about this project. She worked really hard to do a good job.
I believe she took between 2-3 hours on this portion of the project alone.
The reason it took her so long, was that she had to cut out a lot of feathers. She created a dolphird, which is a combination of a dolphin and a bird.
 Her finished product.
The next morning, she set to work on the rough draft of the creative story that described the dolphird.
This was a piece of cake for her, because she is a pro at writing stories.
Once the editing and revising was done, she took her time writing it in her best cursive.
She was very proud of her hard work. It was almost sad to put it in an envelope and send it to my sister for her to turn in to her professor! At least Abi helped Allison to get an A on this particular assignment.
